Greenberg Traurig Guides National Healthcare Properties in Expansion

The real estate investment trust relied on legal counsel from Greenberg Traurig to navigate the complex, multi-state transactions.

The expansion includes a $98 million purchase of two senior housing communities in the Midwest totaling 211 units, which bolsters the firm’s needs-based operating portfolio with additional assisted living and memory care capacity. Beyond the Midwest deal, the company secured nine further properties located in Florida, Oregon, Illinois, and Iowa. These assets will fall under the management of the trust’s existing operating partners.

Michael J. Baum, co-chair of Greenberg Traurig’s Global Real Estate Practice, led the representation alongside a team including Helena Raifman, Chad D. Striker, and Joseph R. Rudas. According to NHP General Counsel Jie Chai, the legal team’s multi-jurisdictional expertise proved vital in executing the firm’s growth initiatives across diverse real estate markets. The transactions signal a continued push by the investment trust to consolidate its footprint in the healthcare sector.
