Zhu Shuojing and Ouyang Mingju of the Zhejiang Wu Opera Art Research Institute opened the event with a performance of The Heavenly Maiden Scattering Flowers. The display of intricate stage movements served as an introduction to the city's historical repertoire, which remained a focal point throughout the exhibition. Following the stage show, the China Cultural Center transformed into a miniature version of Jinhua, featuring three distinct interactive zones for local visitors.
Jinhua Brings Traditional Arts to Rabat
Under the theme of Wuzhou’s cultural legacy, the Chinese city of Jinhua launched an immersive showcase in Rabat this September. The program, titled The Enduring Charm of Wuzhou, introduced Moroccan audiences to regional traditions through a series of live performances, artisanal demonstrations, and interactive sessions focused on opera, ceramics, and tea.
Artisans anchored these displays, offering a tactile experience of the region’s heritage. Shao Wenli demonstrated the technical precision required for Wuzhou kiln pottery, while Pan Lei provided instruction on the Juyan tea ceremony. These demonstrations were supplemented by bilingual photo cards designed to bridge the cultural gap for attendees. The event took place within the framework of the 2026 China-Africa Year of People-to-People Exchanges, aligning with the broader objectives of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation to foster a Cultural Silk Road.
