Generate Capital Secures $117 Million for Community Solar Expansion
Generate Capital has finalized a $117 million term debt facility with MUFG to bolster its community solar portfolio. This agreement marks the first collaboration between the two firms in the solar sector, providing capital for 18 distinct projects totaling 114MWdc across Illinois and New York.

This transaction adds to a period of significant growth for Generate, which secured $1.4 billion in financing commitments during the first half of 2026. Previous activity included a $200 million investment tax credit deal alongside Monarch Private Capital and a $61 million senior secured U.S. Private Placement for industrial energy efficiency projects. These moves highlight a broader trend of institutional interest in infrastructure assets that offer long-term, contracted cash flows.
