Fifteen years after beginning scientific development, 5Q Spectra is launching a major clinical push to establish its PSB blood test as a new global standard for prostate cancer detection. The company plans to move from initial patient introduction to broad clinical validation through two large-scale studies starting this year.
Unlike standard tests that return binary results, the PSB test provides a quantitative risk score. This data is intended to help physicians interpret elevated PSA levels with greater precision, potentially reducing unnecessary interventions. Dr. Rajiv Dahiya, co-founder of 5Q Spectra, emphasized that the transition to everyday medicine relies on this specific clinical evidence. CEO Steven de Jaray noted that the upcoming trials represent an inflection point for the company, which currently offers the test as a laboratory-developed diagnostic through CLIA-certified facilities. The initiative seeks to transform the tool from a specialized diagnostic into a foundational element of routine urologic oncology.
