New York Startup Moonshot AI Rebrands to Shuttlebase After Naming Clash

When a Chinese tech giant began its global expansion under the name Moonshot AI, a small New York-based optimization platform found itself in an unintended identity crisis. Founders Aviv Frenkel and Evyatar Segal opted for a clean break, relaunching their autonomous eCommerce tool under the new moniker, Shuttlebase.

The rebranding follows a period of mounting market confusion between the New York startup and the Beijing-based developer of the Kimi AI models. Frenkel noted that while the transition was unplanned, it provided a moment to clarify the company’s identity as an autonomous launchpad for eCommerce brands. Unlike manual A/B testing platforms, Shuttlebase uses AI to analyze shopper behavior, deploy site changes, and iterate based on live traffic.

The system, which has secured $10 million in funding from investors including Mighty Capital and Almaz Capital, has already delivered significant revenue gains for brands like Credo Beauty and Farmacy Beauty. Recent performance data shows a 30% increase in revenue per visitor for DefenAge and a $114,000 return on a single experiment for Alembika. By automating the entire optimization cycle, the founders aim to move the industry away from quarterly manual testing toward a model of constant, system-led improvement.
