FUZE Caribbean Art Fair Returns to Nassau with 'Coming Home' Theme

This year’s iteration, titled Coming Home, invites attendees to explore identity and belonging through the lens of memory and shared experience. Rather than treating the fair strictly as a marketplace, organizers are positioning the event as an emotional and cultural space designed to foster collaboration across the Caribbean, the Americas, Africa, and the United Kingdom. John Cox, VP of Arts & Culture at Baha Mar, describes the initiative as a move to build a more robust cultural ecosystem for the region.

The programming features a wide array of disciplines, from sculpture and photography to multidisciplinary installations. Notable participants include artists such as Deborah Jack, April Bey, Antonius Roberts OBE, and Charles Campbell. The fair also highlights the work of Lavar Munroe, whose recent Venice Biennale presentation marked a significant milestone for Bahamian representation. Beyond the exhibits, the schedule includes panel discussions, academic Pulse Talks, and the return of John Cox’s signature figure drawing class. Supported by the Baha Mar Foundation and Scotiabank, the event also prioritizes local accessibility, hosting educational tours for hundreds of students from New Providence.
