Tuya Smart Debuts Physical AI Ecosystem at IFA 2026

Tuya Smart is shifting the focus of artificial intelligence from digital screens to the physical home at IFA 2026 in Berlin. The company showcased a suite of new hardware, including the Doova companion robot for seniors, alongside integrated ecosystems for home energy management and intelligent robotics.

The centerpiece of the exhibit is Doova, a robot designed to assist seniors living independently. Equipped with LiDAR and vision-based posture recognition, the device acts as both a health monitor and a household assistant, capable of flagging potential fraud or helping users navigate complex documents. This launch builds on Tuya’s existing robotics portfolio, which includes specialized tools for pet care and interactive home tasks.

Beyond individual devices, Tuya is introducing its AI Home and AI Energy frameworks to the European market. These systems utilize millimeter-wave radar to monitor sleep patterns and automate household electricity consumption by syncing with over 1,000 dynamic tariff providers. The company also unveiled a comprehensive Matter-compatible portfolio, allowing developers to bridge Zigbee and Bluetooth devices into a unified, cross-platform network.

To bridge the gap between concept and production, Tuya showcased its AI-native development tools, including the Tuya Cobuilder. These platforms allow creators to translate natural language prompts into working hardware applications, aiming to lower the technical barrier for building smart-home products. By integrating cloud intelligence with physical hardware, Tuya is attempting to standardize how machines interact with human routines in real-time.
