Signant Health and Lothar Medical Partner on Respiratory Trial Tech

Signant Health and Lothar Medical have signed a letter of intent to integrate the ALDS PRO respiratory assessment system into global clinical trials. The partnership aims to bridge the gap between patient-reported symptoms and objective physiological data by combining Signant’s eCOA platform with Lothar’s all-in-one diagnostic device.

The proposed collaboration seeks to simplify complex respiratory studies by consolidating three primary assessments—spirometry, airway oscillometry, and fractional exhaled nitric oxide (FeNO)—into a single portable unit. By replacing disconnected workflows with the ALDS PRO system, the companies intend to reduce the operational burden on research sites while ensuring more consistent data collection across international study locations.

Signant Health plans to serve as the exclusive provider of the ALDS PRO technology for drug trial applications, aligning the device with its existing TrialMax and Ametris digital endpoint solutions. This integration supports a broader strategy to capture a more complete picture of disease progression, linking daily patient functioning with continuous movement and sleep data. Representatives from both firms are scheduled to demonstrate the combined capabilities during the European Respiratory Society International Congress in Barcelona, which runs from September 5–9, 2026.
