Blue Owl Technology Finance Secures $150 Million in Debt Funding

Blue Owl Technology Finance Corp. has closed a $150 million private placement of senior unsecured notes due in 2032. Carrying a 7.60% interest rate, the transaction marks the company’s third debt-raising event since late June, pushing total capital secured over that period to $800 million.

This latest infusion follows a busy summer for the New York-based firm, which operates as a business development company focused on U.S. technology software lenders. In August alone, the company issued $400 million in 6.500% notes due 2029 and utilized a $250 million special purpose vehicle facility. These moves are designed to bolster liquidity and provide the financial cushion necessary to expand its portfolio in a competitive tech investment landscape.

CEO Craig W. Packer noted that the firm maintains one of the lowest non-accrual rates in the sector, a metric he credits to disciplined underwriting. With more than $2 billion in cash and available credit capacity reported at the end of the second quarter—bolstered by the renewal of a $2.7 billion revolving credit facility—the company is positioning itself to capitalize on current market conditions. The notes were issued under a private placement exemption and were not registered under the Securities Act of 1933.
