The winning communities include Hanover Preston Hollow in Dallas and Sagebrush in Universal City, both of which serve as examples of the region’s expanding influence on property technology. While Hanover Preston Hollow implemented property-wide gigabit managed Wi-Fi through a partnership with Elauwit and Cambium Networks, Knightvest Residential’s work at Sagebrush brought enterprise-grade connectivity to a broader portfolio of 15 properties using Aerwave and RUCKUS Networks.

Innovation is no longer limited to luxury markets. Detroit’s Weston Hall, a 1924 historic building, earned recognition for becoming the city’s first all-affordable smart apartment community by utilizing the PropertyDek platform for AI-enabled security and cloud-based access. Meanwhile, the Irvine Company’s Pacifica Place in California pushed infrastructure boundaries by integrating Wi-Fi 7 and 3-Gig fiber. The Collective at Norman in Oklahoma demonstrated the practical impact of digital adoption, reporting an 85.5% resident utilization rate for Apple and Google Wallet access, which resulted in a 38% reduction in after-hours maintenance calls.

These projects will be formally recognized during the Smart Spaces conference on September 15–16 at the Hilton Dallas/Plano Granite Park. According to Mindi Sue Sternblitz-Rubenstein, VP of Marketing at Parks Associates, the industry is moving past individual device installations toward unified property ecosystems that redefine the standard for connected living.
