Insta360 has abandoned the iconic pill-shaped silhouette of its Go series for a rounded square design in the new Go Ultra. Priced at $449.99, the device introduces significant hardware upgrades, including a larger sensor, expanded frame rates, and a long-awaited microSD card slot for swappable storage.
Performance gains are headlined by 4K video recording at 60fps, doubling the frame rate capability of the Go 3S. Users can also access 240fps slow-motion capture by dropping the resolution to 1080p. Powering these features is a 500mAh battery, rated for 70 minutes of standalone recording, which extends to 200 minutes when docked in the accompanying Action Pod. The inclusion of a microSD slot supporting cards up to 2TB finally addresses long-standing limitations regarding built-in storage capacity.
