Jan Pancar Secures 2026 Italian MX1 Title in Privateer Triumph

Pancar arrived at the Gioiella circuit with the championship lead, needing only a strong performance to lock in the trophy. He controlled the early stages of the opening moto before increasing his pace to overtake defending champion Isak Gifting, securing the race win and the overall series title. This victory marks his second Italian Prestige championship, following his previous success in the MX2 class in 2022.

The path to the title was far from linear. A disastrous opening round at Ottobiano left him with zero points, forcing a relentless recovery throughout the summer. Key victories at Maggiora and a dominant double-moto win at the Faenza Night Race propelled him back into contention. Pancar credited his family-run operation for the turnaround, noting that the privateer structure requires absolute focus on efficiency and preparation to remain competitive against larger, factory-funded teams.

Throughout the campaign, Pancar served as a critical development partner for Raven, providing feedback on the company’s RV-Zero MX gear. His focus on lightweight materials and high-ventilation construction proved vital during the intense heat of the season’s final rounds. By managing his own racing program alongside his family, Pancar transformed a season-opening setback into a championship-winning narrative, proving that high-level motocross success remains achievable outside of traditional factory racing structures.
