The Liane series moves beyond the typical limitations of smart lighting, which often relies on harsh, directional output. By utilizing a flexible, cuttable form factor, these lights can be mounted to walls, ceilings, or draped over furniture to create organic, custom shapes. While similar products exist in high-end design, they are almost exclusively limited to static white light. Hue’s implementation introduces full color-changing capabilities, managed through the company’s existing mobile app.
Performance metrics for the Liane are significant, with the 3-meter model outputting up to 2,400 lumens and the 5-meter version reaching 4,000 lumens. The cost, however, reflects the premium positioning; a 5-meter unit retails for $549.99, and bespoke configurations—such as a chandelier installation comprised of 17 weighted strands—can reach $7,000.
