The mile-long outdoor walking path features light installations synchronized to music, highlighting sculptures by artists including Henry Moore, Auguste Rodin, and Ai Weiwei. Produced again by Lightswitch and Upstaging, the event transforms the botanical grounds into a winter landscape. A centerpiece of the 2026 season is the reimagined Scarlatti installation by Mark di Suvero, which now includes upgraded choreography and dedicated warming areas for guests.
Grand Rapids Holiday Light Show Returns with New Tropical Finale
Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park will launch the third season of its immersive ENLIGHTEN holiday experience on November 23. The event, which runs through January 10, 2027, introduces a revitalized midway installation and a new grand finale housed within the Lena Meijer Tropical Conservatory.

Beyond the outdoor trail, organizers have expanded the event’s scope with new amenities like a hot chocolate bar in the children's garden and extended evening dining hours at the James & Shirley Balk Café. Following the light tour, visitors can transition indoors to view the annual Christmas & Holiday Traditions exhibition, which showcases cultural displays from across the globe. Timed tickets for the general public go on sale September 8, with early access available to members starting September 1.
