Leopard Imaging Debuts Compact DragonFire Thermal Module
Fremont-based Leopard Imaging has launched the LI-DragonFire-VGA-GM2B, an uncooled infrared camera module engineered for industrial thermal diagnostics. Weighing just 58 grams and consuming under one watt, the device aims to bring high-resolution, real-time heat sensing to space-constrained embedded systems and autonomous robotics platforms.

DragonFire manages temperature readings across two distinct profiles: a high-precision range from -20°C to +160°C and a broader industrial range spanning 50°C to +600°C. Data transmission is handled by an integrated ADI MAX96717 GMSL2 serializer, which facilitates high-bandwidth connectivity over coaxial cabling. By prioritizing a low power footprint, the hardware is positioned for deployment in night vision, heat signature detection, and automated industrial inspection where standard visible-light sensors often fail.
