Contractors may soon retire their compressors as Metabo HPT launches a new category of cordless nailers designed to replicate the raw speed and power of traditional pneumatic tools. By integrating an air-spring system directly into the device, the company aims to slash the 150 hours per year framers typically lose to logistics.
Joe Leffler, president of Metabo HPT North America, noted that the industry has demanded this performance shift for years to combat labor shortages and tight project timelines. Beyond speed, the tools are built for field maintenance, allowing users to perform routine service in under ten minutes. Powered by 18V MultiVolt 10.0Ah T-PWR Tabless batteries, the units are rated for up to 1,170 nails per charge. The series includes five models covering framing, metal connector, and duplex forming applications, with retail availability beginning this month at prices starting at $579.
