Microsoft Expands Windows 11 Memory Integrity to Boost Default Security
Starting next month, Microsoft will automatically enable memory integrity protection on eligible Windows 11 devices, a kernel-level security feature designed to block malicious code. While the update aims to establish a more secure default environment, the company acknowledges that the virtualization-based tool can trigger noticeable performance dips in PC gaming.

Microsoft clarified that it will not override user preferences; if you have previously opted to disable memory integrity, the update will respect that choice. For those who find the performance tax too heavy, the setting remains accessible via the 'Core Isolation' menu in Windows settings. The company advises toggling the feature back on once gaming sessions conclude to maintain system integrity.
