Latter-day Saints Announce 2027 Salt Lake Temple Celebration
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has officially opened reservations for the 2027 Salt Lake Temple Celebration, a six-month event running from April 5 through October 1. Centered on the theme "Rejoice in Christ," the initiative invites global visitors to explore the newly renovated historic site and its sacred purpose.
Utah Governor Spencer Cox attended the announcement, noting that the renovated temple remains a cornerstone of the state's tourism and historical identity. He anticipates that millions of visitors will arrive in Salt Lake City throughout the six-month window. Beyond the physical tours, the celebration will incorporate interactive exhibits, live music, and family history resources designed to illustrate the role of temples in personal and community life. Camille N. Johnson, Relief Society General President, emphasized that the primary goal is for guests to experience the peace and neighborly connection that the Church identifies as the foundation of its worship.
