Bill Ritter and CaringKind Launch National Brain Health Campaign

After publicly disclosing his own Alzheimer’s diagnosis, veteran WABC-TV anchor Bill Ritter is spearheading the 'Know Your Brain: Walk With Me' initiative. The campaign, launched in partnership with CaringKind, aims to destigmatize dementia care and encourage early screenings through a series of community events and educational outreach.

The campaign arrives as a call to action for proactive cognitive health, urging individuals to identify early warning signs and understand modifiable risk factors. Central to this effort is the 38th Annual Alzheimer’s Walk & Brain Health Day, scheduled for October 17 in Central Park. The event will provide attendees with access to free cognitive prescreenings, a move designed to bridge the gap between initial concern and formal medical evaluation.

Beyond the New York City event, the organizers are expanding their reach through a national livestream, ensuring that families and caregivers across the country can access expert guidance. Funds raised during these events will directly support CaringKind’s suite of free services, which include multilingual resources, caregiver support groups, and professional consultations. For Ritter, the mission is personal and urgent, as he leads his own team—dubbed 'Onward with Bill'—to advocate for broader research access and improved support systems for those navigating the disease.
