Bausch Health Launches Next-Generation Fraxel FTX in Australia

Australian healthcare practitioners gained access to the new Fraxel FTX skin resurfacing platform on September 1, 2026. Designed by Bausch Health’s aesthetics subsidiary, Solta Medical, the system aims to enhance treatment precision and patient comfort while building on the clinical heritage of its predecessor.

The Fraxel FTX platform integrates dual-wavelength technology, utilizing a 1927 nanometer setting for epidermal concerns and a 1550 nanometer wavelength to reach deeper dermal layers. This approach allows clinicians to address a wide range of skin conditions, including acne scars, surgical marks, melasma, and fine lines. By delivering laser energy in a precise, dot-like pattern, the system preserves surrounding tissue to assist in the healing process.

Technological refinements focus on both the user experience and clinical consistency. The updated console features an ergonomic handpiece, which is 20% lighter and smaller in circumference than previous models, paired with the proprietary AccuTRAC optical system. This tracking mechanism monitors hand movement to ensure uniform energy delivery across the skin. According to Alistair McKeon, General Manager of Solta for Australia, New Zealand, and Southeast Asia, these updates prioritize ease of use in daily practice. The rollout includes comprehensive clinical education and business support for local providers, signaling a strategic push by Bausch Health to strengthen its footprint in the regional aesthetic market.
