Google TV Streamer price jumps to $149
A fifty-percent price hike has hit the Google TV Streamer, pushing the 4K device from its original $99 launch price to $149. The new cost is currently effective at the Google Store and Best Buy, though Amazon listings for the hardware have not yet reflected the increase.
Competitors are mirroring this move. Amazon recently raised the price of its Fire TV Stick 4K Max by over 40 percent to $84.99. Similarly, Apple maintains a higher entry point for its streaming ecosystem, with the Apple TV 4K reaching $199 for the 64GB version and $249 for the 128GB configuration following company-wide price adjustments earlier this summer.
