USPS Unveils New Hanukkah Stamp in New Orleans
At the historic Touro Synagogue in New Orleans, the U.S. Postal Service will host a public dedication ceremony on September 29 for its latest commemorative stamp. This release marks the ninth iteration of the agency’s Hanukkah series, honoring the eight-day festival that begins this year at sundown on December 4.
Issued as a Forever stamp in panes of 20, the new release maintains the standard value for 1-ounce First-Class Mail. The design serves as a visual nod to the holiday’s traditions, which center on the miracle of the oil and include the consumption of latkes and sufganiyot. Following the New Orleans event, the stamps will be available for purchase at post offices nationwide, through the online Postal Store, or by phone.
