Virginia Cancer Specialists Adds Oncologist Kai-Li Liang to Research Team
Board-certified oncologist and clinical investigator Kai-Li Liang has joined Virginia Cancer Specialists, marking a strategic expansion for the Mid-Atlantic’s largest community-based oncology clinical trials portfolio. Dr. Liang arrives as the Fairfax-based practice continues to scale its efforts in bringing early-phase, next-generation cancer therapies directly to local patients.
Alex Spira, Co-Director of the Virginia Cancer Specialists Research Institute, noted that Liang’s focus on clinical research aligns with the practice’s mission to accelerate patient access to emerging treatments. The organization, which currently operates 10 locations across Northern Virginia, maintains partnerships with the Sarah Cannon Research Institute and the US Oncology Network to facilitate these studies. Beyond his research responsibilities, Dr. Liang will provide comprehensive cancer care, focusing on improving treatment outcomes and patient quality of life.
