The initiative emerged from USTA research indicating that only two out of every ten players receive formal coaching. To counter this, the platform deployed an online hub featuring 1,500 hours of content, ranging from introductory modules to specialized certifications. This digital infrastructure is bolstered by a regional network of 44 education centers across the U.S. and Puerto Rico, which hosted 1,500 coaches for hands-on workshops in the past year.
Strategic recruitment efforts have begun to reshape the demographics of the coaching workforce. Women now account for 34 percent of the community, while coaches under 30 make up 24 percent of the total. According to USTA Coaching CEO Craig Morris, the current challenge lies in scaling the pipeline to match the pace of the sport’s growth. To support this, the organization has partnered with academic institutions like Ferris State and Hope College, while also launching initiatives like the Women in Coaching Cohort to address structural barriers within the profession.
