Unlike passive chatbots that wait for user prompts, these AI coworkers operate within the company's Hyperchat AI engine to observe group deliberations. They are categorized into three functional roles: Knowledge agents, which pull internal organizational data; Scouting agents, which monitor external web sources; and Brainstorming agents, which act as creative catalysts to suggest alternatives during problem-solving sessions.
Dr. Louis Rosenberg, CEO of Unanimous AI, describes the technology as a move to bring AI into the dynamic flow of workplace discourse. According to the company, the agents are designed to challenge assumptions and offer insights without seizing control of the decision-making process. Research supports the utility of this approach: a 2024 study conducted with Carnegie Mellon University found that 87% of human participants reported making stronger decisions with agentic support. In a separate forecasting trial regarding the 2026 World Cup, human-AI teams successfully predicted tournament outcomes, with over 90% of participants later citing the agents as helpful and non-disruptive.
