Golf Daddy Rebrands as Benchmark Golf Under Parent Firm Benchmark Motion

After capturing a viral audience with its ball-less practice systems, the startup Golf Daddy is shedding its consumer-facing moniker. The company has officially integrated into its parent organization, Benchmark Motion, repositioning its primary golf business as Benchmark Golf to signal a deeper commitment to precision movement analytics.

The transition brings the Golf at Home product line—which utilizes smartphone cameras and specialized mats to provide 3D swing feedback—directly under the umbrella of a firm focused on physical intelligence. While Golf Daddy previously built its reputation through social media dominance and retail success, the shift to the Benchmark name reflects a pivot toward broader applications of computer vision. The company’s technology relies on capturing human movement without the need for specialized sensors, a capability that founder Daniel Puumalainen intends to scale beyond the fairway into robotics and professional performance training.

Despite early operational growing pains, the brand scaled to over 500,000 followers and secured a bestseller position at Dick's Sporting Goods. CMO Paul Boranian noted that the rebranding serves as a promise regarding the company's technical rigor. With new products currently in development, the firm plans to leverage its existing video analysis AI to push further into the sports market before expanding into industrial physical AI applications. All operations have migrated to benchmarkgolf.com as the company prepares for a new wave of hardware releases.
