US Hybrid Corp. is moving its headquarters and primary manufacturing operations to Lancaster, California, in a strategic partnership with First Public Hydrogen. The deal aims to bridge the gap between hydrogen vehicle production and fuel supply, creating 1,200 jobs while supporting the state’s zero-emission transition for heavy-duty fleets.
Operations are scheduled to begin in 2027, focusing on workforce development through local Antelope Valley institutions. For Lancaster, the move reinforces a decade-long push toward clean energy, positioning the city as a nexus for hydrogen technology. Beyond municipal fleets, the project targets the ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach, where the transition to zero-emission drayage trucks remains a priority for regional air quality. FPH₂, a joint powers authority founded by Lancaster and the City of Industry, acts as the aggregator to secure stable fuel volumes, effectively mitigating the investment risks for both producers and fleet operators.
