Over 60 delegates from 13 Asia-Pacific nations convened in Shenzhen on August 21 to bridge regional energy gaps through youth-led innovation. The gathering, hosted by the China International Publishing Center and CSG, focused on integrating digital infrastructure with sustainable power strategies to reshape the region’s low-carbon development trajectory.

Beyond infrastructure, the discourse shifted toward the synergy between electricity and computing power. Wang Hai of Nanyang Technological University advocated for a two-way flow between these sectors to maximize efficiency. Meanwhile, experts like Chhoeun Raksmey of Cambodia’s Ministry of Industry, Science, Technology, and Innovation stressed that these transitions rely on a coalition of governments, private firms, and local communities. With the Greater Bay Area targeting a 60 percent green energy mix by 2030, organizers hope to leverage this momentum to establish a regional AI-plus-energy innovation hub.
