Specifically, the molecule demonstrated comparable potency to nicotine at the α4β2 and α3β4 subtypes, which are associated with reward pathways. Notably, the substance showed substantially lower potency at the α6/3β2β3 receptor subtype, a critical component in dopamine amplification, suggesting a distinct pharmacological profile compared to traditional nicotine.

Bonguard Naturals has introduced Nixodine-S, a patented, non-tobacco-derived molecule designed to replace nicotine in adult vapor and oral products. A recent nonclinical study suggests this substance can replicate the satisfaction-related receptor activity of nicotine while demonstrating significantly lower cytotoxicity in laboratory-controlled, volume-equivalent testing environments.

From a manufacturing perspective, the formulation is engineered to serve as a volume-for-volume substitute, allowing companies to integrate the ingredient into existing production lines without significant infrastructure changes.
