Chief Cherise G. Gause spearheaded the shift as part of a five-year strategic plan, prioritizing proactive policing and modernized data access. By migrating to the AWS GovCloud-based Mark43 platform, the department eliminates reliance on vulnerable on-premises servers. This transition ensures that command staff, investigators, and field officers operate from a single, unified source of truth, regardless of local weather conditions or power instability.
North Miami Police Overhaul Tech Infrastructure with Mark43 Platform
With hurricane season threatening local infrastructure, the North Miami Police Department has transitioned its entire dispatch, records, and mobile operations to a cloud-native system. The move aims to secure mission-critical data against power disruptions while providing 125 officers with real-time analytics to better serve the city’s 60,000 residents.

The department is integrating a full suite of digital tools, including Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) and Records Management Systems (RMS). These modules automate reporting workflows and provide real-time dashboards to help leadership identify emerging crime trends. The upgrade aligns North Miami with several neighboring jurisdictions, including Coral Gables and Miami Gardens, which already utilize the platform to streamline regional public safety operations.
