The official software implementation currently limits the LED to specific Gemini interactions and incoming calls from favorite contacts. HiLight Studio transforms this limited feature into a customizable notification center. Users can now assign specific light patterns, such as pulsing rainbows or green waves, to individual app alerts like Slack messages or text threads. Beyond mere color selection, the app provides deep control over brightness, saturation, and cycle timing, effectively turning the hardware into a functional status indicator.
HiLight Studio unlocks the Pixel 11 Pro’s dormant LED potential
Google’s HiLight notification array on the Pixel 11 Pro arrives with restrictive defaults, limiting the hardware to just two scenarios and five colors. Developer Dhananjay_Tech is bypassing these constraints with a new third-party utility, HiLight Studio, which grants users granular control over the device’s long-underutilized light strip.
Because the app is not yet available on the Google Play Store, interested users must download the source files directly from GitHub and manually sideload the necessary components. The software also features an import-export system for presets, allowing the community to share custom lighting configurations. This development restores the kind of deep hardware customization that was once a staple of the Android ecosystem but had largely vanished from modern flagship design.
