The expansion marks a shift for the New York staple, which built its reputation on a single, meticulously crafted menu item: dry-aged prime rib, caramelized onions, melted provolone, and horseradish aioli on a French demi baguette. While the original Bleecker Street location remains open, the brand will debut at Wonder’s Upper East Side site this autumn, offering pickup and delivery via the Wonder app before rolling out to additional locations.
Salt Hank’s Brings Iconic French Dip to Wonder Platform
Lines at the Bleecker Street storefront may finally thin this fall, as Salt Hank’s joins the Wonder mealtime platform. Through an acquisition of the cult-favorite sandwich shop, Wonder plans to expand access to the signature French Dip while retaining the original team to oversee culinary standards and ingredient quality.

Co-founder Henry Laporte stated that the partnership was contingent on maintaining product integrity, noting that previous suitors had pressured the brand to cut costs or change suppliers. Under the new agreement, Chef Daniel Rubenfeld joins the Wonder team to manage the culinary direction, while Laporte and co-founder Ian Henderson-Charnow will continue to provide guidance. John Li, Chief Culinary Officer at Wonder, emphasized that the goal is to scale the brand without compromising the craftsmanship that defines the sandwich.
