The new Generate Soundtrack tool, currently in public beta within the redesigned Adobe Firefly app, analyzes uploaded footage to synthesize instrumental music that matches the visual rhythm. Users can influence the output through text prompts or by selecting presets such as lofi, hip-hop, or classical. To simplify the creative process, the software suggests prompts based on the visual content, effectively predicting the appropriate mood for the scene.
Adobe Integrates Generative AI for Automated Video Audio
Four distinct audio variations now materialize from a single video upload as Adobe rolls out generative AI tools designed to score footage automatically. By leveraging a model trained exclusively on licensed content, the company aims to bypass common copyright hurdles while streamlining the production of soundtracks and voice-overs for creators.
Alexandru Costin, Adobe’s head of generative AI, notes that the company is building a workflow that balances automated suggestions with manual control. Each prompt generates four variations up to five minutes long, allowing filmmakers to experiment with different sonic textures. Alongside these audio features, Adobe is developing a web-based production environment that integrates these AI tools directly into a simplified editing timeline, further reducing the technical barrier for video post-production.
