Mercuryo Boosts Crypto Conversion by 75% Through UX Overhaul

A 75 percent year-on-year surge in conversion rates marks a turning point for Mercuryo, as the London-based payments firm successfully refines its fiat-to-crypto on-ramp process. By stripping away friction in the customer journey, the company has lifted completion rates from 12 percent to 21 percent in just one year.

The shift addresses a long-standing industry bottleneck where cumbersome interfaces often lead to transaction abandonment. While historical data from the 2023 Global Crypto Onramp Report suggested that abandonment rates could reach 90 percent, Mercuryo’s latest internal figures demonstrate that simplifying the pre-payment phase significantly bolsters user retention. The firm focused on reducing complexity before payment submission, noting that abandonment declines sharply once a transaction is initiated.

Ashna Vaghela, Chief Customer Officer at Mercuryo, emphasized that aligning the crypto purchasing experience with the expectations of neobank users is critical for mass adoption. By adapting checkouts to local preferences and device requirements, the company has managed to turn a historically intuitive-heavy process into a streamlined workflow. This approach serves as a blueprint for wallets and exchanges looking to bridge the gap between traditional finance and the Web3 ecosystem.
