The new macOS app supports system-wide dictation, enabling users to leverage Meta AI across various applications beyond the chatbot interface. This move aligns Meta with competitors like Google’s Gemini, OpenAI’s ChatGPT, and Anthropic’s Claude, all of which have prioritized desktop integration to gain a foothold in professional environments.
Meta Brings AI Chatbot to macOS
Meta is launching a dedicated Mac application for its AI chatbot, aiming to integrate its assistant directly into the desktop workflow. By allowing users to share their screen windows with the AI, the tool provides real-time suggestions and content generation, positioning itself to challenge established productivity rivals on the platform.

Beyond consumer-facing features, Meta is expanding the utility of its AI for businesses and creators. The assistant now interfaces with Facebook and Instagram accounts, as well as Google Workspace, to streamline administrative tasks. The system can synthesize engagement metrics—such as likes, shares, and saves—to offer data-driven content strategies. Furthermore, the AI can automate documentation, generating decks and spreadsheets while handling recurring reporting duties like weekly performance updates.
