Desert Financial Credit Union Secures National Bank On Certification
The Cities for Financial Empowerment Fund has officially designated Desert Financial Credit Union’s Desert Safe Spend Account as meeting its 2025-2026 national standards. This certification recognizes the product as a secure, low-cost banking tool for residents who struggle to qualify for traditional checking services in Arizona.
Jeff Meshey, CEO and president of Desert Financial, noted that the account aims to remove barriers for members who need reliable financial management tools. The Bank On certification aligns with a broader national effort to integrate unbanked populations into the financial mainstream. According to the CFE Fund, certified accounts now represent two-thirds of the national deposit market share, with millions of consumers utilizing these products to build financial stability.
