Activate Launches First German Gaming Hub in Berlin
Inside the Mall of Berlin, a new 10,097-square-foot facility has opened, marking the Canadian entertainment firm Activate’s first foray into the German market. The space utilizes RFID-tracked gaming rooms, challenging groups of two to five players to navigate physical and mental obstacles across a vast library of interactive levels.
This location serves as the anchor for a broader expansion strategy across the DACH region. The company has already scheduled a 12-room facility in Fürth for late August, followed by a November opening in Wiesbaden and a site in Vienna set for spring 2027. Adam Schmidt, CEO and co-founder of Winnipeg-based Activate, indicated that the firm intends to capitalize on Germany's established gaming culture by blending elements of high-intensity workouts with immersive, party-style social gaming.
