Universal Health Services Finalizes Talkspace Acquisition
Universal Health Services has completed its acquisition of virtual care platform Talkspace, aiming to bridge the gap between digital therapy and inpatient clinical treatment. The merger combines the reach of one of the nation’s largest hospital networks with a virtual provider serving over 200 million people across the United States.

Talkspace brings a network of approximately 6,000 licensed providers to the organization, alongside its recently launched AI-powered mental health guide, Tee. By unifying these digital assets with the existing infrastructure of UHS—which operates over 380 inpatient behavioral health facilities—the company intends to improve care coordination for employers, health plans, and individual patients. Jon R. Cohen, M.D., CEO of Talkspace, noted that the partnership accelerates the company’s mission to increase accessibility, enabling a nationwide network that links virtual, outpatient, and inpatient care environments.
