Customers can now reserve slots via the retailer’s pharmacy portal, even before specific vaccine stocks arrive in-store. This initiative is part of a broader push by the company to position its pharmacy locations as primary hubs for preventive care. Jackie Morse, Group Vice President of Health and Pharmacy, noted that the feature helps patients manage their health schedules during the busy autumn months.
Meijer Launches Advance Scheduling for Seasonal Vaccinations
As families prepare for the upcoming school year and the onset of respiratory illness season, Grand Rapids-based retailer Meijer has introduced a new digital tool allowing patients to book vaccination appointments in advance. The system aims to streamline access to flu, RSV, shingles, and pneumonia immunizations across its Midwest pharmacy network.

Beyond individual appointments, the company is scaling its mobile clinic program, which deploys pharmacists directly to workplaces, schools, and community centers at no cost to the host organization. This mobile strategy proved effective in 2025, when Meijer facilitated over 200 clinics and administered 7,000 doses. Participants can also earn mPerks points for vaccinations, with management options available through the company’s mobile app or by texting their pharmacy department directly.
