Developers of the open-source CrossPoint Reader firmware have introduced third-party plugin support, effectively bridging the gap between these niche devices and the vast digital catalogs managed by the Libby library application.
While the functionality remains in beta, it is currently accessible to any user willing to flash their device. The process requires connecting the e-reader to a computer via USB-C to replace the factory firmware. Although the workflow lacks the polished, native integration of mainstream tablets, it offers a functional alternative for those comfortable with basic file management.
