The partnership addresses the growing challenge of maintaining long-lifecycle embedded applications. By incorporating Vishay’s portfolio, Flip Electronics intends to stabilize supply chains for OEMs struggling with component obsolescence. Bill Boldt, Senior Vice President of Americas Sales & Marketing at Vishay, noted that the collaboration aligns with the company’s objective to provide reliable support for legacy customers who remain dependent on older technology architectures.
Flip Electronics Inks Partnership with Vishay for Obsolete Components
Alpharetta-based distributor Flip Electronics has secured an authorized value-added reseller agreement with Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. The deal enables Flip to manage the distribution of Vishay’s discrete semiconductors, specifically targeting discontinued and end-of-life (EOL) devices essential for legacy systems across aerospace, military, and industrial sectors.
Jason Murphy, CEO of Flip Electronics, highlighted that the agreement allows the distributor to offer fully traceable, authorized components for programs that cannot migrate to newer hardware. This focus is echoed by Global Chief Revenue Officer Todd McAtee, who emphasized that in an era of persistent supply chain volatility, the ability to source authenticated, end-of-life parts is vital to keeping mission-critical systems operational without compromising quality or reliability.
