Blessey Marine Services Partners with OpenTug to Automate Billing

The partnership focuses on unifying disparate data streams, including vendor expenses, voyage activity, and existing contracts, into a single, cohesive workflow. By deploying OpenTug’s software, the Harahan-based marine provider expects to reduce the administrative burden of closing out voyages, which historically required significant manual effort to match invoices against operational records.

Chris Estep, Chief Operating Officer at Blessey Marine, noted that the investment serves to improve both billing accuracy and transparency for their customers. Jason Aristides, CEO of OpenTug, emphasized that the transition relies on the premise that financial precision is tethered to the accuracy of operational logs. As the implementation proceeds, the collaboration aims to shorten billing cycles across Blessey’s network, which spans the Mississippi and Ohio River valleys, the Gulf-Intracoastal Waterway, and beyond.
