As artificial intelligence adoption accelerates across clinical workflows, Mercyhealth has partnered with Vitea to implement a dedicated governance platform. The health system, which operates across Illinois and Wisconsin, aims to secure its multi-site network by enforcing real-time safety policies and ensuring total visibility into every AI application in use.
The Vitea platform provides centralized orchestration, deploying over 100 healthcare-specific policies that monitor performance and potential drift in real time. This allows administrators to catch deviations before they impact patient care, a requirement Jeremy Colson, Chief Data and Analytics Officer at Mercyhealth, describes as non-negotiable for an organization of their scale. By embedding governance into the foundation of its AI strategy, the nonprofit system intends to foster clinical innovation while maintaining strict regulatory and ethical standards.
