Pothole Heroes Expands Into Tri-State Area With New Regional Director

Pothole Heroes has tapped industry veteran John Carey to spearhead its expansion into the Cincinnati and Ohio Tri-State region. The appointment marks a strategic push for the sustainable asphalt maintenance firm as it looks to serve commercial and industrial clients across Ohio, Kentucky, and Indiana with its infrared repair technology.

Carey arrives with over two decades of experience in the paving sector, previously founding Carey & Sons Blacktop Sealcoating and Striping. A University of Cincinnati alumnus, he will oversee operations targeting property management firms, HOAs, and healthcare facilities. Founder Rebecca Neidich noted that Carey’s deep ties to the local market and technical expertise were the primary drivers for the hire.

The expansion comes as the company seeks to address the specific challenges of the Midwest, where heavy traffic and harsh winters accelerate pavement degradation. Pothole Heroes distinguishes its services through an infrared restoration process that recycles existing asphalt, a method that has earned the firm repeated recognition from Pavement Maintenance & Reconstruction magazine as a top contractor. By focusing on site-specific sustainability, the company aims to reduce landfill waste while providing a cost-effective alternative to traditional cut-and-replace paving methods.
