Lightview Capital Backs InStore Technology to Scale Grocery Infrastructure

Seattle-based InStore Technology has secured a strategic investment from Lightview Capital, aiming to accelerate the expansion of its managed IT services for independent grocers. The partnership focuses on scaling the company’s retail infrastructure, including point-of-sale systems and cybersecurity support, across the western United States.

The capital injection will support InStore’s growth strategy, which includes enhancing service capabilities and pursuing strategic acquisitions. InStore CEO Tom Courlas noted that Lightview’s track record in the sector provides the necessary expertise to broaden the company’s reach and technical support for regional grocery chains.

Stan Bikulege, a principal at Lightview Capital, highlighted the firm's interest in InStore’s ability to navigate complex challenges, particularly regarding compliance and the evolving cybersecurity landscape. Richard Erickson, managing director at Lightview, emphasized that the investment aligns with the firm’s focus on service-driven platforms. Klar Ventures acted as the financial advisor during the transaction. InStore currently provides end-to-end infrastructure, from self-checkout systems to electronic shelf labels, for independent retailers.
