While the ownership structure behind the holding company has shifted, the direct stake in TORM plc remains unchanged. OCM Njord Holdings continues to hold 20,329,874 Class A shares, maintaining its position as a significant investor in the Danish refined oil product carrier. The transition follows a change in the controlling entities of the Luxembourg-based vehicle, moving from Oaktree to Brookfield Corporation.
Brookfield Corporation assumes control of TORM major shareholder
Oaktree Capital has exited its indirect stake in TORM plc following a reorganization of OCM Njord Holdings. The shift transfers ultimate control of the tanker company’s 19.86% shareholder to the Toronto-based Brookfield Corporation, marking a change in the ownership structure effective as of July 31, 2026.

Njord Luxco, which holds these shares, is jointly controlled by OCM Luxembourg Opps IX entities, now under the ultimate control of Brookfield. TORM, which operates a global fleet of product tankers, confirmed the update in a regulatory filing, noting that the change does not impact the operational status or the direct shareholding interest of the entity involved.
