BCE Reports Q2 2026 Results Amid Heavy Infrastructure Investment

BCE Inc. reported a 1.5% increase in consolidated revenue for the second quarter of 2026, reaching $6.176 billion, even as net earnings slipped 2.3% to $629 million. The results reflect the company’s aggressive capital spending on AI data centers and the integration of its newly acquired U.S.-based Ziply Fiber network.

BCE Reports Q2 2026 Results Amid Heavy Infrastructure Investment

The company’s adjusted EBITDA grew by 1.0% to $2.702 billion, bolstered by strong performance in its media division and the contribution of Ziply Fiber. However, higher depreciation, amortization, and interest expenses weighed on the bottom line, leading to a 3.6% decline in net earnings attributable to common shareholders. Capital expenditures surged 41.5% to $1.08 billion, driven by the build-out of Bell AI Fabric data centers in Canada and the expansion of fiber-to-the-premise networks in the U.S.

Operational highlights included 54,883 net residential fiber-to-the-home internet activations and 41,594 postpaid mobile phone net additions. Bell Media saw an 8.9% revenue boost, fueled by exclusive coverage of the FIFA World Cup 2026 and a 23% increase in Crave subscriptions, which reached 5.07 million. CEO Mirko Bibic noted that the firm remains focused on its long-term roadmap established at its October 2025 Investor Day, prioritizing digital and AI-powered solutions to maintain market competitiveness.
