Family Drama Chrysalis Set for Nationwide Vietnam Release
CJ CGV Vietnam will bring the family drama Chrysalis to local theaters on September 11, 2026. The film, titled Mãi Nợ Một Lời Tạm Biệt for its domestic run, draws from the early life of artist Sir Daniel K. Winn, grounding its narrative in the intimate bond between a grandson and his grandmother.
The project gained momentum following screenings at the 2026 Marché du Film in Cannes and a successful run at the Da Nang Asian Film Festival (DANAFF IV). At the festival, Kieu Chinh earned a Screen Excellence Merit Award, marking a career that spans nearly seven decades. For the production team, this theatrical launch represents a homecoming, bridging the collaboration between U.S. and Vietnamese creatives to share a story rooted in memory and resilience.
