The report, titled 'Ollie's Obsession Overview: The State of Dogs 2026,' highlights that nearly one-third of dogs tracked showed progress in at least one major health metric year-over-year. Digestion emerged as the most significant area of improvement, with stool health metrics rising in over 42% of dogs monitored. Weight management also saw positive shifts, as 7.94% of overweight dogs transitioned into healthier weight categories.
Beyond physical statistics, the findings mirror a shift in human-pet relationships. A companion survey revealed that 70% of dog parents prioritize their pet’s health and longevity over their own, with many applying the same wellness tracking routines to their dogs that they use for themselves. This trend is particularly evident in senior dogs, who showed some of the most substantial health gains, suggesting that consistent nutrition and preventative care provide benefits across a dog's entire lifespan.
