Broadridge and Payward Link Tokenized Equities to Proxy Voting

Broadridge Financial Solutions is integrating its governance platform with Payward Services’ xStocks framework, allowing holders of tokenized equities to cast proxy votes. The partnership aims to bridge the gap between blockchain-native assets and traditional shareholder rights, enabling digital investors to participate directly in corporate governance.

The collaboration allows eligible xStocks holders to authenticate via Web3 credentials on ProxyVote.com. Once verified, investors can review proxy materials and submit voting preferences for the underlying securities. This move effectively mirrors the governance experience found in traditional capital markets, applying it to an ecosystem that currently hosts over 500 tokenized assets, including equities, ETFs, and pre-IPO offerings.

Mark Greenberg, Chief Commercial Officer at Payward Services, noted that the initiative addresses a primary limitation of early tokenization efforts, which focused on speed rather than ownership rights. By leveraging Broadridge’s infrastructure—which already processes communications for trillions in global securities—Payward aims to provide institutional-grade auditability for its users. Doug DeSchutter, President of Broadridge’s Investor Communication Solutions, emphasized that the integration ensures investors no longer need to sacrifice shareholder rights for the efficiencies of blockchain technology.
